The Factory Screen Covers

We buy new detectors and they usually come with a film on the screen when opening it new. Is there any bad reason to not just use that instead of using the extra covers they might have included? Putting on a new, sticky film cover is a pita to me.

I always add a third party cover to mine that covers the whole screen and buttons. That way I don't wind up mashing dirt and grit into the controls. I wouldn't trust the little film cover to do that job very well.
