(BFO) The Frontiersman was My 2nd. Detector.

(3rd one I ever Used.)

like all RELCO Detectors.

although they may have been fine in the SW

they were a Nightmare here in Hard Coal Country
with all the Iron ore in the ground.
Sorry

I haven't seen one of those in over 30 years. I sent away for literature on them in about 1972. I still have the little 33 1/3 rpm record that they sent. Now I wish I still had a phonograph that would play it.
Boy, did I get pumped after hearing that! :o
Funny thing...I still get pumped about going metal detecting.
Thanks for bring back some fond memories.

My brother had some sort of Relco in 1973 74 then switched to compass. my first detector he gave me was a Mustang I think they were also made by Relco.

bk,

I've got a victrola that plays the ol 33 records. If you're ever in the KC metro area, give me a call and you'd be welcome to stop by and play it! 8)

I never got the record or at least I have no memory of receiving. :'(

That was my first detector also. Bought in the late 60's.
I went down the street at Relco to buy it, since I live in Houston and that is where they were made.
I toured their "factory" and then chose the detector I wanted.
They went out of business, in the early to mid 80's because they only made BFO detectors, and didn't upgrade to the VLF type detectors that detected better and had better discrimination. They also sold live catch traps for all sizes of critters.
