(THE GOOD)I ran the gambit of CRH emotions today. First bank stop today to pick up my usual boxes and my teller told me that a guy came in and dumped a ton of pennies today and she was waiting for me to stop in to show me. It was full of wheats!!!!! I bought the bag for face:headbang: and I got 2 full quart glass jars of wheats after sorting. Couldn't get the jars photo due to file size sorry. scan0001.webp

(THE BAD)Started to go through my penny boxes and this is the first box opened.:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

(THE UGLY)Went to my dump bank and looked over in the teller tray and saw....1940 walker and a 1886 morgan shining at me.....I jumped and said casually that I would like to look at those (odd looking coins ;) the teller showed me them and I then said I would like to buy them and he refused that he was "saving them" for a "good" customer who always comes in? I started to push it and the head teller came over and said that they were supposed to be in the safe as they were already purchased. AS this is my main dump bank and I felt that they were both in on this side deal that I just let it go. It's been eating at me all day:censored:

Fellow CRH. Would you have really made a scene and ruin a good dump bank that takes everything I give with no questions ask for that silver? Just asking to get the feel on this situation. Thanks guys and gals.

Once I had them in my hand, I'd have dropped $1.50 on the counter and walked away.

They never let me hold them. I was really thinking about just lunging for them and throwing 1.50 while running out the door.

Nothing you couldve said to get them in your hands- sucks but leave it- just keep dumping just keep dumping dumping dumping dumping

Sometimes you just gotta swallow it for a good dump bank I guess. I'm thinking about killing them with kindness and also doughnuts ;) to get in better to try to score some of those finds.:dontknow:. Still going to think on it.

You can resize the jar picture using Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and then post it up here. Any key dates in the wheats?

I will try later today and get better pictures for you of the jars. I only have a scanner at the moment as my camera broke and it also is not the greatest machine. I only do pennies for the copper content and sort them out with my sorter. Then I pick thru for the wheats and indians if I'm lucky! So far no key dates. I am really a halves guy, so I am wanting to brush up on my penny knowledge to better hunt. Thanks!

Not woth it. Can you find another dump bank that will do what they do?

Tried other banks in my area and most of the others are really pissy with dumping large amounts of coins and said that even with an account that they would have to start charging a "dump fee" for the volume??? I have seen other CRHunters going into banks in my area so I guess they are getting fed up about it as a whole. I have one excellent pickup bank and this one dump bank.

Here is the new pics with the jars full of wheats!! Copper porn :):)

Just posted the jars full of wheats....copper porn ;)

wow, that is awesome. I think that's more whats then I've found in 2 years. Actually I know it is because I've only filled one jar that size.

I've had some pissy tellers recently too. I would suggest you maybe open a "business" account, since you are an "entrepreneur" and if they threaten to charge you let them know you run a vending or coin business and thus you have to change out for cash. Alternatively, deposit the money when dumping and simply withdraw it from a machine the next day???

Hope these ideas help all, I am having to get creative on my coin searches as well as my dumps.
