After about two weeks of fruitless detecting, endless driving to the same tired sites, and constant heat, my luck finally started to pay off. A buddy suggested a spot that he had in the past detected, telling me about the Morgan dollar, barber half, and various other goodies he had dug there. I knew then that was were we had to be. After a short drive we hit the spot and proceeded to hunt. The weather was perfect, purple glass was abundant, the soil soft, and the trash almost non existent. The first good find was the 1926-D Merc, which was in really bad shape. It cleaned up real nice. After that the finds started to appear. The medal/fob is, I believe, is from the United Spanish War Veterans, dating either 1906 or 1912. (Similar to the G.A.R.) The shredded token, is an unlisted variety, from a Denver druggist, good for 25 cents. The oval shaped item was attached to the owner's keys, from the First National bank, Denver. Last is a 1917 Canadian Penny dated 1917. Destroyed my electrolysis hookup cleaning that one, will have to make another one this week. Enjoy.
