The artifacts deserve it!! I was in Cairo about 10 years ago and was blown away by the museum. Takes a day and a half to go through properly. The buildings in close proximity to the pyramids was probably the most surprising - and dissapointing aspect. Not sure how they went from such an advanced civilisation to the current shambles. Religion possibly plays a part?
