XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
This field has all period of finds but what I'm after is the most difficult period to find in the UK AD450-600. This is early Saxon Migration period, when hardly any metal objects were made & no coins were produced.
I got one piece of an unknown type of Mount with punched hole decoration from circa AD500 & Cru'Dad got an off-centred stud made from this early blueish metal which we know is of that period.

I did 7.5 hrs & Cru'Dad did 3.5 hrs.

Other finds;

3 Roman Coins
17th C Token
Buckles
Tudor Book Clasp
17th C Spoon top
Medieval Lead Mount
2 Medieval Leather Mounts
Piece of a Bronze Age Socketed Axe
Circa 8th C Saxon Strap-end
Circa 11th C Saxon/Viking Stirrup Mount - Class b, Type 2, Grp 1
To prove what I just stated on oldsoapy's post - 2 normal conditioned hammered Pennies of ED I (both London)

A lot of finds today! Too bad the stirrup mount is broken...

Nice finds, saxon sites take some detecting I hope you get the time to do it, or is it a balancing act with the other fields.

Massive balancing act. Lots of options right now. Some well hammered. Some we need to check out (after research). Some we need to blind hunt. Others we need to cover again.
Time is our biggest issue.

Congrats on some great finds, too many places to hunt is a good problem in my neck of the woods.

Congratulations on the nice finds. And wow, there really is no comparison to soapy's coin.

Good problem but the harvest window is so small, you can miss it all together, like this field last year. It was direct drill oilseed rape into Wheat stubble, had no chance.
That's why I want to cover the whole area this year.

Your Saxon finds always impress! Thanks for sharing!

Good luck getting that area covered! I love that key, and those buckle pieces look so old!!! Happy Hunting!!!

great hunt love seeing your finds

3 Roman Coins added to top.
