I wasn't meant to be detecting today, so Cru'dad decided to try a tough option, hoping to leave the better options for me & the XP.:thumbsup: Although Cru'dad did 5.5 hours I did manage to finish work early & join him for the last 2 hours.
The hill is a bronze age landscape & has evidence of metal working from this period. It also throws up a little from most periods but it takes acres of gridding to find just 1 really good find. Today wasn't that day & we settled for our usual run of the more common finds;

17th C Button
18th C Pewter Button (better than average condition)
Toasted Charles II Farthing
Small piece of Bronze Age Axe Head
Bits.....

thanks for sharing, still better than sitting at home!

Bottom picture. Center item that looks like a plum bob...??

It's still is a good hunt :icon_thumleft:

It wasn't up to your usual standards for hunting but it would be great for most of us on this side of the pond. It sure beats my 3hrs-10pounds of iron and a shot gun headstamp being the good target of the day.

You have a nice variety of finds there.

A way better day than we had! Better fields will come soon!

Very cool, I hunt hillsides all the time where I live and there's always good stuff to be found. Just not as old as your finds :thumbsup:

Hills have been my best hunting spots. Great finds Cru
