Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our
special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of
food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times
gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left
behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his
eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group,
flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been
spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and
you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your
life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

So sorry for your loss; it's like losing a family member when you lose a pet.

Thank you for your kind words.

Eddie was our first Rotty and on his blood lines we started Kirkenhund Rottweilers. Edgars blood lines are better that all of my family and most of my close friends. Of his ancestors, at least 70 percent are directly tracable to the foundation dogs of the German International Rott Club at the turn of the century.

He produced some outstanding pups; all of whom are classic big square headed Germans that are too large to show in AKC Conformation shows. These pups are born weighing between 1.5 and 2 lbs each. Usually by age 3 they stand 30" at the shoulder and with a proportionate weight (160 to 175 lbs for males and 100 to 130 for females).

There "gentleness" quotient is legendary. I remember when my youngest grandson would pull Spence, our 3 year old male around the house by the tongue. Spence would look at us for succor and assistance, but the way he would "bath" Thomas with licks and kisses could only be called lovefilled. The biggest danger from our gentle giants is that they would ruin the crease in your trousers trying to get into your lap! But then they learned from their daddy, Edgar.

Again, thank you each and every one for your kindness. I won't forget.
