Got my Garrett Catalog and my Garrett 2010 Calendar in the mail yesterday............................

John,
Since you use the Scorpion quite often and from your pictures in very
adverse conditions, what kind of battery life can be expected?
Thanks,
Ty

I use the rechargeables, a brand made in Germany "GP". They are a 8.4 volt, 200mAh/hr. I get about 15+ hours per charge, depending on the temperature. If it gets cold, I use a hot pack on the casing, with a wool sock and my camo cover. Standard alkaline should do much better, but they cost more. I think if you hunt often, the 9 volt rechargeables are cheaper to use on the long run. If you only hunt ....say 1 x a week, the alkalines are the way to go. The NIMH rechargeables do discharge sitting on the shelf not being used.
