When played as "Day is Done", I think it's a beautiful sound. When played as Taps for buriel, is played slower - always sends cold chills down my spine.

This isn't TAPS, but it's the closest to TAPS; and one I prefer and listen to frequently.
It's called "Il Silenzio" and with little imagination you can hear something that sounds like taps.
A fitting piece as Memorial Day ends.

In 1967, the first person from my county killed in Vietnam was a cousin I don't think I ever met. I remember Taps and the 21 gun salute ( even though I was only 5 ) and it made a lasting impression on me. I still get tears and sadness for those we have lost. May God protect them and the loved ones waiting.

I tear up myself when I drive through, there were over 8000 flags put up yesterday, over 9000 at their final resting place and rising,I hear their 21 gun salute several times a day quite often.
