All Treasure Hunting
Hit a new permission this afternoon and like our permission before, we got the homeowner out there swinging with us too.
The homeowner has been thinking about getting a metal detector for himself, so we thought we'd help him out. Lol Gave him our crash coarse with the AT Pro and off we went. He was tearing the yard up with his plugs but, it was his yard.
The kid stole the show our last hunt finding 3 silvers to my one, today it was my turn with the silvers.
I started off finding a 43 merc, then a 63-D Washington and ending my silver day with an 43-P OD nickel. My only other finds were a couple wheats and a play coin.
No silver for the kid today. He did find 7 wheats and two older dog tags both from 1947. Funny part about the dog tags, both were from 1947 but, one was from Washington county and the other from Frederick county. We not only live close to the line between Maryland and Pa. We also live close to the county line between two different counties. Still, what are the odds of finding two tags in one yard from the same year for two different counties?
The homeowner only found a couple wheats. He did come close to finding the OD nickel I found.
As I was swinging along I got a good signal and noticed it was in the middle of one of his plugs. I moved aside his chewed up plug and stuck the pin pointer in the hole. No problem finding the nickel but, noticed a fresh hit across the Jeffersons face. Lol

The last pic is of the kids last couple hunts before today's hunt that he can never send me before posting here. Lol

Better yet what were those doggies doing doggie-style when they lost those doggie tags?? :dontknow: :laughing7:

looks like some fantastic finds!, love the silver of course but the old dog tags are cool as well!!

and ending my silver day with an 43-P OD nickel.
I LOVE seeing people refer to the nickels as OD nickels, its official!

How dare he treat a nickel with such irreverence by scratching it?:BangHead: Good job putting the kid back in his place too! Maybe the people that owned the dog tags moved during the year and did the right thing by paying tax twice that year???

Nice hunt, I'm glad you have that time with your son!

I agree 100%! A smile wraps across my face each time I see someone call it an OD nickel. What better way to pay homage to our hero!

Congrats DS. You have really been consistent lately. One good hunt after another. Very well done. Way to keep the whippersnapper down! Best of luck to you both.

Nice finds , I always like to see the dog tags posted

Some cool treasures!! And congrads on the silvers!

Nice! Lots of goodies! Congrats to all!
You may want to just drop a hint to the land owner if he digs else where besides his own property....um, he has to be just a tad neater, just say'n.

If you know me I don't beat around the bush. Lol I told him straight out you can't be digging plugs like that. He laughed and said he knows. He said he wants to get a detector mainly for the beach??

Nice digs deershed! Keep that silver flowing!

Ahh, sand and surf...the other white meat of detecting!
Congrats you've added another to our ranks!
