Went to go detecting today in my Great Lake, but the waves were crazy rough, so I tried a trashy spot on the dry sand of a beach nearby a not so great lake. I had the equinox 800 set up to reject anything 10 and below and between 13-19 so basically looking for nickels , coins and silver jewelry. I dug two good targets in about 2.5 hrs The first was a crusty clad dime , the second one was a nickel or so I thought , it was a nice solid 11-12 signal, scooped twice to get down about 6 inches. I look in the scoop as I have thousands of times in the past but it wasn't a nickel or a piece of a pull tab or a piece of whatever. It was this. I try to savor these moments as they are truly rare for me.

This is a nice big man's ring marked 10K and 1/5 TW (of diamonds? no tester) So this year has been pretty slow so far but September is looking up with last weeks find of the Pandora bracelet and todays ring.
