The thrill of posting ... A recalled item

I picked up, what I thought was a decent buy, a new in the box Corning Ware coffee pot. I thought I would definitely make a profit on my 4 dollar investment. Well, eBay yanked it as a recalled item. I am going to have to check on different wording (such as not mentioning the model number) if I want to pursue my desire to post it BUT does anyone know where you can verify if it is indeed a recalled model?

Yes with the exception of Automobiles,
most recalls are just good for a refund, if recalled almost immediately after
sale, & you have a store receipt.

the rest are throw it away & loose, or Use at your own risk.

I wonder if there is a Recalled items, Collectors society ?
would be a cool collection

I think I read that the epoxy glue that they were using at the handle/ring assembly and the pot.

Yup, I got caught too with the same item. I tried being sneaky and that didn't work.
Ended up trading for a couple things at a local thrift store.

I sold a recalled camping stove once. While ebay didnt say anything, I had a crazed bidder contact me telling me to do this and that to it to disable it from being used. I told him my disclaimer was enough and to mind his own business.

Sure. And hope the unsuspected buyer doesn't get hurt or maimed because you sold him a known defective item

I had a much better experience or well my partner did right before we became partners. It was a recalled kerosene pump up (like the kerosene lanterns) single burner stove like thing (might have been Coleman but not at all sure). Tried to list on the bay & not only could you not list it but found out the company would pay $280 + shipping to ship it back to them. And that's exactly what he did, I believe they sent the check & a box with a shipping label after he provided them with the serial number.

He was told the company paid a yearly fine for every unit still out there in the public because they were in fact very very dangerous. They explode like a bomb I guess. Anyway this thing was older like 30 years old minimum maybe 40? So your not out of luck with all recalled items, he ended up getting at least double what he figured he could get out of it when he bought it for like a $1.

I second the opinion about parting it out. I bet the box even brings some bucks. I've been stuck with a couple vintage nos hair dryers that were recalled. Not cool but a learning experience.
