There's gold near here?
"There's gold near here?" - That was my reaction when I recently learned about the GA gold belt very near me. At the beginning of summer I moved to Alpharetta, GA, less than 50 minutes from Dahlonega and even closer to other parts of the gold belt. I knew nothing of it until recently though. I am ordering some panning equipment, probably today, and will do some prospecting on Saturdays most likely. I need to figure out where to go. I know the belt is very long. I will not mind hiking quite a ways to avoid overworked areas.
