Truth be told, I'd rather be metal detecting. But it got cold again, and the ground is frozen solid. This is the best matching set I have found so far.

Nice finds on the sheds. A matching set is tough to find.

If I'm counting correctly, , you got a 12 pointer.
Very cool

He may have been a 12pt at one time. It's though to say with the broken brow time, whether it was split like the other one or not. As is, he only had 11. But who's counting?

Nice find on the antlers.

he made it through the winter!

Very nice I have yet to find a matching set. Absolutely one of my favorite things to find I average one a year need to step my game up.

I shed hunt every year but never find any as nice as those ! Congrats !

I never really hunted sheds before, but we are having an abnormal winter with very little snow, so they are easier to spot than usual. I've been finding all of mine in hay fields. My theory is that they fall off when they bend their necks to eat. I can see this becoming a yearly thing, where we spend a week or two searching right after the snow melts. It's pretty addicting, just like any other form of hunting. I had a buddy of mine who is a serious deer and shed hunter score these for me. Each antler was just over 60", and he estimates the deer would have scored 136" on the skull, because you get to add in the spread. Fun stuff.

So my advice for those who are looking is have lots of eyes go with you, and concentrate on feeding areas, and the trails that lead back to their beds.

They probably are worth a little something. But I'm going to keep them, and use them to try and rattle that same buck in next fall. Imagine the irony in that, getting rattled in with your own antlers.
