Found this a few years around Richmond Va. Area has history back to mid 1700s. Worn super thin, I can’t make anything out for Id.
Assumed it was a dime until I saw Bcbirdmans post below:

Diameter is .686-687. Seems a bit large for a half reale, but a bit small for a barber or seated dime. Any thoughts?

Maybe clean it up. Baking soda and water.
That might bring up a little bit of an image.
No going to hurt the value.🙂
Possible Trime?

True point about the value…..

Hadn’t thought about a trime but if my maths right they have a .55” diameter.

Not a trime as yours is bigger.

Based on the pictures it's doesn't look like it's silver, but silver gilted button and the shank area is worn smooth.

Gare…..never tried it before, but baking soda works (obviously not on a nice coin). I can clearly see an “A”, possibly with an “I” before. Looks like some additional writing/pattern towards the center from the “a”. Britannia? Did England have a dime sized silver?

The soil where this came from is tough on coins. I have a half dime from there I originally thought was a button, based on coloration. It’s worn too, but you can tell what it is. Buttons from this site are in way worse shape, and I’ve never found one with plating or gilt left.

Ok. With the help of tnt hunter, and his previous post. Think we have it figured out. There is an “ia*” directly to the right of something I couldn’t id before. Pretty sure it’s the 5 “fingers” on Charles III’s coat. No date, but if I’m right that makes it 1700s.
