Found a Silver Bar the other day, or at least I am beginning to think it is silver. Would like some help on ID. When I first dug this, I thought it was unusually heavy, very grayish, and I assumed it was a chunk of lead. I ran it in my tumbler last night to clean up a little with some other coins & etc that needed to be washed. Normally I would not tumble something so valuable, but I assumed this was $2.00 in lead. This morning when I opened the tumbler, I noticed something bright and shiny. It weighs 4.625 OZT, and is about 2-1/4"x5/8"x7/8" in diameter. It kind of looks like a bar that was crudely cut in half, but I am still a bit uncertain. I live near by the Gulf of Mexico East of the Mississippi River, and I found this in a wooded area where an older map showed some homes that are no longer there. Less than a miles distance from the ocean. Am I jumping the gun, or could this be a very old silver bar. Has anyone ever found or seen anything like this? The Alaskan Bar I put in photo is only for comparison, it is similar in dimension and weighs 5.240 OZT. Please advise

in the last 2 imgs, the end of it looks melted like a bar of solder, if its solder maybe there was a
co. there at one time that used solder bars, take to a jeweler test for silver

One end of it definitely looks melted. I think there were some old Orchards and possibly a farm in the area where I found it. The area is uninhabited now.
The only silver solder I have ever seen are the kinds you use to sweat copper, which are either the rolled type or the long flat skinny sticks.
I am not familiar with silver solder being used by the bar, or what its purposes would be used for. Any ideas?

Solder bars are used for auto body repairs (filling in pinholes in the metal). They are also used to make fishing jigs and sinkers. That's probably what your bar was used for.

P.S. They are made from lead or tin, not silver.

Was about to ask what you think mine is made from.?
Seems awful shiny to be lead, and awful heavy to be tin. Possibly a combination.
As much as I hate to agree, you are probably right.
Im really starting to believe it is some sort of solder, because one end looks to have been heated, and the other end looks to have been pinched, possibly from the thumb and index finger.
Will still hang onto it, and have it tested one day.
Thanks

Looks mold poured like the olden days. I hope I'm not being captain obvious...

Too bright looking to be lead, could be tin or linotype? I would have it acid tested. If the acid turns red then its silver. You can buy the test acid off of ebay pretty cheap, I got my last bottle for 4.45$USD
