Think I got a good one

to cold to water hunt - hooked up with my land partner to hit some farm fields
first places we hit - foot prints all over - we did not get much
last spot as we were heading out - I got a nickel vdi # hit - thought it was gonna be another small piece of can slaw
was surprised when I picked it up out of the dirt and gave a slight rub and saw anchor
its pewter - friend thinks its a Continental Rev War naval button - might be rare - at very least not very common

been detecting since age 12 --1975
started out doing parks and schools
then went to cellar holes and farm fields
when finds started getting slim and summers to hot for land spots
started going in the water
I'll do a relic hunt when I get the chance

Put mine in my display table - another TH'er who found one similar (little better shape than mine) just sold his for $450+

Display is the best choice.
You can always get money, but good luck finding another one of these buttons for your collection if you sell.
