Here's a bit of my collection. When my moms dad passed I was given his stuff from the war and have been collecting since, the best piece in my collection is his SS dagger. I don't have the room here to store or display most of what I have so this is just a fraction.

thats a fantastic collection! My Father owns a Luftwaffe one decal helmet that was supposedly picked up off of the beach in Normandy France after the D-Day Invasion by an Uncle of his. it has the soldiers name written in the liner but we have been unable to find any records on the guy. it would be interesting to find out if he made it through the war or not. anyway, thanks for posting!

Thanks for the reply. That helmet is something to hang onto, a pretty pricey item and that you know where it came from. Forgot that I had one hidden in my room, also found my ammo can for the M1 Garand, though I'm not sure if it's WWII might be from the Korean war. I do have a WWI tank periscope, but its buried in an ammo can somewhere under all my camera stuff.

Down right interesting collection there Johnny. Mother's Crosses, Workers Books, Party Pin. Gotta love the M1. What a workhorse! Actually my favorites are the unit histories. The Ninth Division Eight Stars to Victory and the Rainbow Div. who if I can remember came in across the beaches of So. France. Again very, very nice. History must be remembered. Especially those who gave the ultimate and never had the chance to grow old. Bless them all.

The M1 is a fine rifle indeed, very lucky that I got it and at the price I did for what great shape it is and being original. My moms dad was in the 42nd Rainbow Div. I think I have pretty much all of his paperwork from the war and all his metals, even the papers he had to fill out to bring the dagger back home. The 42nd was one of the first into Dachau, that's where I believe the dagger came from as it was an SS camp. He never would talk about the war, though it is marked in his book where he saw action and where he was during the fight. For the book form the 9th, I believe the fellow that it belonged to was a medic, has been selling his stuff at a local store, I try to get as much of it as I can to keep his collection together. Theres a pretty nice auction coming up with a good bit from the Third Reich, unfortunately my funds are rather low and I will have to miss out.

Johnny, your uncles return papers on the dagger ad that much more value to it! Your Mauser, is it matching or is it a Russian capture. I have a Russian capture rifle that all matches except for the barrel band and floor plate which still astounds me. Alot of collectors poo pah them but you know where they came from. I do have a Mauser that has all matching #'s. Picked it up at the local gunshop. I was working part time at. Good luck on your future finds!

The mauser looks like its mostly #s matching and still has the original makings. It does have an import stamp on it which takes away from it some. Here's a few pictures of the the dagger and a bit more of what I have.

Where did the silverware come from? Looks like a Luftwaffe insignia on it. The dagger is outstanding.

Silverware I got on line. The top one I think is a repo, just too new looking to me, it's about the size of a regular fork. Second one looks to be the real deal, looks like it's a serving fork for how big it is. Only two pieces that I know where they came from are the dagger and a huge building flag that has the towns name written on it.

The spam can of ammo is awesome. That is something I don't see very often, very nice. The rifles and bayos are great too.

Very nice collection. Mine is small but growing. Jus tadded a Hitler youth buckle and SA buckle to it.
