I may be down for a while and unable to hunt so a good friend brought me something to do. He knows I am putting a collection of coins together and need some wheats to fill out my book so he brought me this jar full to go through. They are ones he has found either detecting or in pocket change and he threw them in the jar. He is not even sure what is in there. I guess we will find out soon enough.

How did you make out with the search of the jar of wheats?

I am waiting until after i see the surgeon on the 2nd of September before I even open the jar although I have been tempted many times. And, to show you what kind of friend I am, I have several jars full of shiny new pennies and I plan on replacing any I take out of the Wheatie jar with 10 new ones. Maybe 20 if I feel generous!

That's a gesture one is not likely to soon forget. That's a special kind of thoughtfullness right there, I don't care who you are!

I've only been admitted to a hospital once, but of all the people who came to visit me over the course of 5 days it was my most newly struck friendship who had the forethought and compassion to bring me a nice greasy double cheeseburger w/fries and a Coke as reprieve from hospital food. He's turned out to be my best friend going on 16 years now.

Hopefully I can avoid surgery if at all possible. I was in a wreck two years ago that messed my back up and then in February of this year I was hit from behind and it just added insult to injury. I have been through therapy and am seeing a pain specialist. He wants me to see the surgeon because the pain therapy isn't going exactly as he was hoping it would. While I have improved some I still have a ways to go. I guess Friday will tell the tale.
