I went back to one of the permission fields, after the wind dried the sand some. Chunks of flint flakes all over one hill slope. Some pieces have a lot more character than others. Also found a tan piece of pottery, a small rock or shard of pottery (?) and a piece of what appears to be charred wood. The rock/shard has some very uniform cracks on its face. I don’t believe it is plow damage. The lines are too fine for that.

That’s what I miss the most. When you first start learning, you could always find a treasure to bring home. Believe it or not once you find where they stored the points and knives out there those flakes will be put on the back burner. Find the campsite and you will find the points

Looks like stoneware on the pottery, but lots of good flakes gotta be close to spitting out a nice tool or point

This is a good candidate for an end scraper. A scraper will have a nice smooth radius.
