This Week's $1000 in Halves.

Searched them on friday and the results were average.
64 (2)
66 (1)
67 (3)
68 (3)
69 (2)
And a 1991S clad proof.
Working on my box of cents now. Also finally got my 1999 type II Lincoln reverse back from grading.
Ended up being AU-58. Still can't complain, what were the odds of finding it in the first place?

Happy Hunting!

Eleven silver halves and a proof is good! Congratulations!

I need to read up about the Lincoln cent you mentioned.

Re: This Week's $1000 in Halves.

Could you post something about the type 2 penny? What does that mean?

Re: This Week's $1000 in Halves.

there was a wide am and close am in america for those years. i believe if the am in america is far apart and not touching it is worth alot. its in the redbook.

Nice job on the silver Enamel. I am not familiar with that type II either....thanks for the explanation Coinlover. Where did you send it off to get the grading done?

Re: This Week's $1000 in Halves.

I tried looking for the close far AMs.... gave me a headache.... and I really coudnt see the diffrence.
red book says.........
the varities are...........

MS-65
1992 d close am $500
1998 wide am $10
1999 wide am $500
2000 wide am $5.00

There are some other varities listed but have no value marked. I don't know if this is because they are unsure if they made them or not or they are extreemly rare.

BTW.... even if you are just a coin roll hunter I think you all should go out and buy a coin guide. Red book is what I have. and the big warmans ?? encyclopedia. (can't remembe the name off the top of my head) There is alot of good info in them. Weights compositions, and it tells of errors too look out for.

Re: This Week's $1000 in Halves.

Sent it to PCI. That is who the coin dealer in my town send to. Went to the money show in Charlotte, NC this past Sunday. Bought a Cherrypickers Guide Volume 2 and was able to get it autographed. The PCI booth was there and one of the authors was at it. He said he even remembered grading the coin himself 2 weeks ago. I love this book, great pictures and have already been able to verify a few varieties I have. Go to Ken Potter's website and he has very good photos of the type II. I'm guessing that at AU-58 it is probably valued between 250-300 dollars. Now if I can just find another one!
