Thought i had a button til i got home and started cleaning & a Minnie Ball Burrito

Went scouting in the woods today and found some brick foundation pillars.
Started finding a little camp lead and then a Minnie Ball Burrito, which is a First.
Also dug a tent grommet and partial harmonica reed.
And the item in question. Its 17.3mm, and it looked like a small brass cuff button. I could see a brass disk, but i also noticed some crusty rust on it.
Ive always read that older buttons are made of solid brass, so the rust really had me confused.
After removing some of the cRust i noticed a star pattern around the rim.
Im thinking its not a button, but would love to know what it is.
Kind of reminds me of a old rifle cartridge. Any ideas......

Back end of a shotgun shell???
Thanks for responding Tom. Im leaning towards the rifle/shotgun shell ID as well.
The thing is, i have dug alot of buttons and a ton of shotgun shells.
This one really looked like a button when it came out of the ground. The way it was domed up with crust on both sides, really had me going.
I have also never dug a rifle/shotgun shell with that particular star patttern.
I had high hopes before i started cleaning, but was joking with myself on the ride home saying it would probably end up being a Levis button.
Thanks again.

Maybe a snap style button or one that was sewn into the clothing like an overalls button.

I agree, vintage work clothes button of either the snap or the rivet type.

I am agreeing with the Overall type or Snap button , Those Stars had me going & I at first thought they were on the Rivet.

Imo that is Still a keeper Button , i'd (eventually) put it one of my button displays with location found.

& That Minnie Taco ; man that's Cool as Heck , as you likely know that area needs to be hunted some more.

I'd take those finds any time.

Thanks to all who responded.
I think the snap button / overall button ID makes the most sense.

My buddy told me the button looks like an APALA button.
I asked what is an APALA button.
He said A PAL A $#_ t button.. lol. j/k.

SO with that being said, its time to mark this one solved.

Thanks for looking, and the ID Help.
