Mattress vent or Kepi Hat vent?

But that's not my luck lately. The piece with the holes on the right I'm talking about. I know the larger piece is part of a pocket watch. (E. Ingraham Company Bristol Connecticut). It seems to have been attached to fabric since there are still fabric remnants around it. I'm almost thinking it's off a mattress? To let the air escape when you lie down?

That would be more interesting. The material seems to be heavier look wool that is still attached to it. Maybe its just hopeful thinking.

Found the picture of what is supposedly kepi hat vents. Seems real close to mine... I'm keeping my fingers crossed, much better than a mattress vent.
