different machine using a different freq might also surprise you as well.

What about same machine using different freq? I have wondered if that makes a big difference or would it be so close there is no difference?

Good tread, nice ring find, always exciting, is it a real pearl?

Well I was in coin mode with an iffy signal, so I switched to jewelry mode and got a steady great signal. I dug it and it was a hobo 1937 buffalo nickel. I seen this done on youtube videos and tried it! Have a great weekend!

my XLT came with the stock 9.5" coil and it did great, but I later bought a 5.3" bullseye coil and a 3.5" snooper coil. The 5.3" found stuff the stock coil missed because of better trash separation, and it stays on my machine 99% of the time. takes a little more swinging to cover a large area, but I love it. you can swing yourself to death with the snooper coil, but it's a great coil and handy for getting around foundations and pipes and junk after a house is torn down.
