Thoughts on this large cent

I have had this lc for a while now. And had a few friends take a look at it. At first glance it looks like someone tried to hole it and failed. But if you look closer at the star. The metal connects to it around the small hole. Thinking maybe it had a blister in the planchet? Any other thoughts? Error or pmd
