Thoughts on what this lead piece may be?

Found this today. At first I thought it was a weight from a weights and measure set or something. I guess it could be a home made weight. It is crudely cast.

The diameter is about the size of a Lincoln cent. The length is about 1 1/4 inches. Top is slightly cone shaped and the bottom is concave.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That is a tough one. I'm going to go with lead pawn from an old chess set.

I'm gonna say battery post from a smaller (and older) battery. So far, it looks to me like the flat end is fairly regular in texture for about 1/2" or so - enough for a clamp to attach to. Looks like the rest has been in contact with some amount of acidation eating away at it. But, I'm only guessing!!
