I haven't been out detecting at all due to the heat. So I stopped at an estate sale this weekend just around the corner from me. It was a 93 year old man that had passed away. Everything was high price on Saturday, so I stopped by again late on Sunday just as they were shutting down, so everything was dirt cheap.
I was going through a box and found a tiny jar that had what looked like three pennies in it so I bought the whole box for $1.00.
I got home to see what was inside the jar and there was:
1) A 191? "S" penny. The last digit was damaged. I was hoping for a 1912 "S" but we will never know.
2) A 1939 penny that was used to make a button?
3) A heart stopper IH penny. It was pretty smooth so I had to put it under a scope. It looked like an 1877 at first, but after a better look with more lighting I saw it was an 1875.
Oh well.
Thanks for L@@King,
MM
