I broke it pushing it down into its hole in my Type Set Album. It just snapped right in half. The shame was that I found the first one with a metal detector. The new one I had to buy. Cost me $35.00.

I've never heard of breaking a coin while trying to put it into a holder to protect it.
It must have been defective. You didn't try to pound it in with a hammer did you?

Anyway, that is a very nice looking three cent peice and a perfect example to be used in a type set.

ouch! thats a shame about the dug one but the bought one looks to be in better shape anyway. great digs by the way, i dont see too many 3 centers being dug.
 

Nice coin that you bought there. Sorry that you had to buy it. Certainly a freak accident having that one break like that.
