Last week I talked to my Thursday Credit Union Coin counter branch about their half dollars. She said there are quite a few in there, but it'll still be a while before it fills up. I asked her if I could fill it up and buy it...taking all the halves to my usual dump bank. She said "lemme think about it...yes!". My response was "Can you order me some halves for next week?"
The halves came in today. I picked them up at lunch along with my weekly $500 in dimes. Today is my birthday so I decided "Maybe the silver gods will shine upon me today" so I went through the box real quick with an edge check before work and by happenstance found a golden toned 1964 JFK when it fell out of a roll and I heard the classic ringing sound when it hit the floor.
$500 box of half dollars
1964D JFK
1989S
2002P
2003P x 2
2004P
$500 dimes from the coin counter
1940S Winged Liberty Head
1945S Winged Liberty Head
1950D x 2 FDR
Brings my running average up to 53 silver dimes out of 33.4452 boxes for a running average of 1.58 per $250 box
