Went water hunting today in the cold hard rain. Not the best conditions, but when I have the time I go. I hunter for 4.5 hours and finished another swimming area. I found 20 coins with a face value of $1.67, 2 cheapy earrings, an earring back, 26 fishing sinkers, part of a buckle and what I thought was a thin twisted piece of copper. The twisted metal was down about 3 inches mixed in with a bunch of rocks and gravel. When I got home I took a closer look and saw it was part of a hollow hoop earring. I rubbed it on a piece of cloth and it shined up nicely so I tested it. Turns out it is 14k gold. It just proves you need to check your scrap carefully, there might be a nice little surprise for you.
A good hunt and my streak continues. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
