1941 is the date not the best pic. Glad I found it though I don't seem to find alot of older nickels so I'm happy for sure.

Way to go many more in your future gotta dig all signals Well done. Tommy

That’s a nice find. For whatever reason, nickels are hard to find. I find a slew of dimes, but few nickels.

I never find dimes past the sixties. It is what it is though I'm sure one day I'll find atleast one to throw in the pot.

Nice find EyesWideOpen. Thanks for sharing...

Nice old nickel find. Congrats

Nice nickel in great shape

Nice save, was that a change find? Congratulations

Welcome to TreasureNet -- I see you just joined in the last day or two and your first "pocket" or "dropped" coin posted was a nice older 1941 Nickel. Are you planning to get a metal detector and if so what kind? I know before my first detector which was over 48 years ago I would find a lot of coins on the ground AND I was always looking and loved exploring & hunting old arrowheads in plowed fields in Illinois when I was younger. GOOD LUCK & Happy Hunting to ALL

All of my collection is pocket change i have not felt the need to buy to add to my collection yet. I have some 1919 wheat pennies that look great for their age to have been found in pocket.

I don't have a metal detector unfortunately. I just go through my change and exchange cash for rolls where I can and when I can afford to. maybe one day though lol.

GREAT! What got me "collecting coins" was going through my change & then my FIRST job after High School & a couple years of Business College was working as a Bookkeeper for a small Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Illinois --- and I had to check in the Delivery Drivers that serviced all the COKE machines all over the city --- and I had to count their change and verify their receipts......AND while going through all their change I would save a nickel or dime that was a better date(replace it of course from my change) ....and the GOOD thing this was in the years 1960 thru 1963 when ALL of the dimes were SILVER and 1/2 of them were still MERCURY's and YES about half the Nickels were INDIAN HEAD/BUFFALO's . Thanks for looking

Bill

Congratulations my brotha and welcome to Tnet from Southern Louisiana. I’ve seen a lot of 41 but that one is awesome!

You’ll find silver. Just need the right spot. They’re out there.

Congrats on your find. If you do decide to purchase a detector do some research first to see what would suit your area and your usage best then shop around. You don't necessarily have to spend a fortune to enjoy the hobby. Many vendors offer great deals on used machines that they take in on trade. Seems like about every three years a company will come up with something everyone feels they need so lots of used machines are for sale at once.
