Detector(s) used
Fisher F2
I went to the beach tonight and swung away for about 90 minutes...
Using the 4" coil I got with my detector, I got 3 signals all night...one was a bolt from the lifeguard chair I was near...*I didn't think about it until I found myself about 12" down...lol *
The other two signals were a bottle cap and an aluminum beer can...*I save cans for scrap metal*

This was the first beach I detected my first time out as well...
So far the three times I've been there I've come out with not much more than trash...
I think I am gonna work on finding good relic spots...or a better beach...

I've been thinking about the can tabs and bottle caps...everyone seems to find them in mass quantity...
Currently I'm using can tabs to make a belt...*just search google for can tab belt*, but afterwards, I will be saving them to take to a local hospital that donates $0.02 each tab donated...

I was thinking that more people should do that...or even save them for scrap AL if you don't have a local place that will do that kind of thing..
As far as bottle caps*mostly beer twist offs*...I haven't been able to think of what to do with them...besides hold onto them for scrap steel...
Any ideas for something creative with them?

Check with your local Ronald McDonald House in your area. A lot of them have a pull tab program. They won't pick them up so you'll have to drop them off but it's for a good cause. HH Randy

Pull Tab Program

What is the Pull Tab Program?

The Ronald McDonald House of Houston
has been involved with the pull tab program for six years now! This recycling program is a fun and easy way to become involved with RMH. It is one of our most popular fundraisers and its support just keeps on growing. Through the continued support of individuals, corporations, and organizations the Pull Tab Program brings in an average of $8,000 a year!!

How do Pull Tabs Help the House?

Unlike the urban legend states, pull tabs DO NOT support medical treatment of any kind including chemotherapy or dialysis; however, pull tabs DO support the operations of the Ronald McDonald House of Houston. This includes purchasing food for the family food pantry, cleaning supplies, and providing van transportation for the families to and from the Texas Medical Center.

Although a simple pull tab may appear to be insignificant, it is in fact the most valuable part of the can. Unlike the rest of the can, the tab is pure aluminum and therefore generates the most money from recycling.
