Today's encounter with Park's personnel

I am busy swapping coils around on my Tesoro machines to get better use from them.

The closest park is very nice, I've posted pics. Nice turf, tot lot, BBQ areas, oak trees for shade, etc.

I/2 an hour here with this coil, and 1/2 hour over there with another and as I was about ready to leave, I heard a voice saying, "It looks pretty good, but pick up that, and the cigarette butts over there."

So I looked up after closing the little kerf I had just made to recover a penny and the head Park Guy was "right there, directing one of his workers.

"Find anything?", he says. No, just a few pennies I replied.
"Maybe you'll get lucky next time," he said.

So I told him, "No worries, I like it here. Nice park, and you guys keep it real clean."

He stopped what he was doing and told me, 'Thank you sir, I really appreciate that."

I barely made battery money, and certainly not gas, but it was a nice day!

Alright. It's nice to see some people know what this is all about. Next time you go there you should take the guy some doughnuts or something. Maybe some coffees or sodas for him and his crew.

There are a few parks in my area that I like to hunt. I have seen one detectorist in particular that does not hunt with a apron....get the point. I constantly pick up after him. Nice to see another person that packs out all the trash. I usually fill my trash pouch to the brim when I am hunting.

Getting in tight with the park personnel is always a plus.

Just don't go out with the intention to get your gas money back.......LOL.........

ya it's important to take out all the garbage and do your best to make sure you leave the ground as if you were never there. I made some phone calls and shot off some emails to some good potential spots and got responses from everyone. I haven't run into any problems detecting in most parks.

I think you have to have, a really good day, if you are going to get your gas money back with these gas prices.
