Today's Find?? Just a mining railroad....

I suspect that this new find will consume the rest of my MDing until the snow flies lol.

Everything is there except for the rails...and maybe I just haven't found them yet.

First pic is the location, second is after 1 hour with the MD

I believe the large pin is a ore cart connector, as this railroad seems to be about 1/2 size of a normal railroad. The other interesting piece is that thingamajig on the left...a "U-Bolt" is meant to go through the top, and I did find it as well but left it on the pile at location. There's a hallmark on it but I need to clean it better to see what it says.

I did find out that the mine closed in 1935 and I do know the name but don't want to share it as of now.

You have to share the location with us trolls!:laughing7:

What, Iron county isn't enough of a clue? ;)

Great finds and hope many more to come, likely a narrow guage rail system.
The long pin was used to connect rail cars back in the day and many folks lost fingers placing or removing them.

Thanks....I'm going back out right now and will post any updates/pictures later tonight

Found 4 more railroad plates and 1 solid steel round pin/bar....oh, and so many railroad spikes that I don't even bring them back home anymore lol. Anyway, one of the plates says ''Sellers Pat. - 08'' and gives a plat location that's somewhat difficult to make out.
