today's find need some help too

sorry cant post a pic
but anyway went to a old homestead no idea how old (no coins)
and found a button as follows,

front side - a 5 star with Texas spelled around edge and has full guilt.
back side- Phil Horstmann Bros & Co.
help would be appreciated.

Does it say Phil before or at the end? I found a lot of buttons on this site for a Wm. and from Philadelphia.

And definitely try this site because this sounds like what you are describing. Look under Texas. If this is your button you hit the jackpot. It says they are very rare. Good luck.

The back says Hortsmann Bro & Co then Phil upside down from the rest.

well sigh...... after 2 hours of looking........
I have found out that HORSTMANN BROS. & CO . PHIL . backmark is 1890's so is post CW
other than that I have found no other buttons like this with that backmark from Texas

Admitted into the Union as the 28th state in 1845. The Texas state seal button shows a five pointed star with "TEXAS" surrounding.
The seventh state to officially secede, June 8, 1861.
Civil War era Texas buttons are rare and desirable.
