After a disappointing Friday and Saturday, I made up for it today.
Found this knife , totally exposed on the sandy surface.
It’s right at 3 1/2” with damage to one sides shoulder/ear.
Uncertain to its type, but have a couple of possibilities.
It’s also made of a different material than I’m used to seeing.
Your thoughts on a possible type is appreciated. 0C7319E9-8B76-45F0-9689-17750EDC1587.webp75A90B78-B794-4C06-957A-ABF1F46D333C.webp4AB6B8D2-61BF-4EC4-98D7-B1641B4E0182.webpD06FE505-9339-4F9F-9275-2044DA9A7A0A.webp7B222B5A-59D0-466E-BC65-1FD1D723C5C4.webp96094D09-D595-4EC4-AFEF-351138D36C63.webpD3C3B71F-887D-48A0-93FB-13EE715501F3.webp

Do Etleys occur in your area? That is a smoker by all rights.

WOW sweet piece! That’s going to be find of the month not just Sunday...
With all those ridges and creek bottoms you really have a lot of great spots to go.

Although rare... etley shave been found in southern Minnesota..
It crossed my mind ... but the base throws it off...
It is a possibility... thank you, good sir.

Don’t know the type but I like the material and it’s a really nice find. Congrats!

Very nice point, great detail in pics,..Wait a minute, What’s this!, artifacts layin around all over the floor, you havta kick artifacts out of the way to get into the room, that’s just ridiculous.

Interesting how the one side has the small serrations so a knife I'm thinking. You find some really nice stuff up there in the Artic tundra!

Very nice find. From what I can see, I don't believe that is damage at all, but an intentional shoulder removal, just the way the owner left it.

The drawing of your cross section is called plano-convex. Or, flat side, hump side. Gary

I like it too. I dont have a clue as to type. I do like the way its made with both wings dropping a little. There is a style of Gary made like that here. I love them but they wont lay flat in a frame.
