It didn't rain last night but I got out to the field anyway. I made off with a couple points. The larger of the two looks like it may have broke during manufacture and was re-made into a scraper. I also found a very nice knife! The handle is infused with crystals and really sparkles in the sun. It is also very sharp.

The last item I found just looked too uniform to be natural. It is uniformly thick and looks like it has ben worked. It is too thin to be a celt (I think) and has not been beveled. Is this anything or just a geofact? Thanks for looking!

Wow...what do I have to find to solicit a comment? Tough crowd! :'( ;D

Nice knife/scraper...interesting material showing some nice flint! The flat rock could just be a geofact or a naturally shaped stone that they may have considered using. Check the sharper end for grinding marks where they rubbed it against another stone. Keep at it! Happy Thanksgiving.

I suspect that you're not getting a lot of feedback regarding your last item because nobody really knows what it is. You didn't specify the material, but if I were to find that on one of the sites that I hunt, and it was a hard material, I'd assume that it had it been put there by a human, most likely an Indian. Rocks of that size and shape, of a hard material, aren't found here. If I were to pick up something like that here and it was natural, I could break it with my hands. I do it all the time.

With what you're finding, if you're researching the net and printed material specific to your geographic area, its not going to be long before you know more about what you're finding that somebody from "down south" that's been into this "forever."

Hey Romeo-1! Nice finds! Wish I could get out and look. It's hard to tell about the whatsit. Can you tell what it is made of? Does it have marks that indicate human work?

Keep those finds coming.

Brian

Neat finds, Rom! I tell you what, whatever that last thing is and it was found here, believe me I would be saying the Indians put it there and more likely it was used for something.
