Hey guys and gals, this is my first post. Ive been reading every new thread and have looked at most of the older ones also. Ive been searching for only this year but haven't done much. So far I've been through 1 box of pennies a box of nickels and 15$ in loose halves. In addition to the boxes me and my sister both work at convenience stores so we both check our drawers. Here are out totals.
Cents- 2 full rolls of wheat pennies (oldest 1919) 26 came from the box of pennies, the rest came from our drawers including my finds for today 10 wheat pennies ( oldest 1919, 1936, 1939, the rest 40's/50's)
Nickels- 3 war nickels ( 1 found in box, other two found in drawer by me)
Dimes- 3 silver dimes (1950X2, 1961) The 1961 and one of the 50's was found by my sister on the same day, i found the other one last week.
Quarter- Scored a 1947s from my grandmother a couple months back. I was driving her to the store to get a pack of smokes and she kept saying how she'd hate to spend her coins. She pulled out the quarter a buff nickel and a few dollars in clad halves. I told her i would pay for the smokes if she gave me the quarter. I told her its value so i didn't cheat her, but she was pretty happy to only pay 25cents for smokes
Halves- Picked up 15$ in halves from two different banks. Scored 2 40% from the first, and a 1977S proof from the other.
Its not much but its the start of my collection, pay day is tomorrow so hopefully ill have the funds to do some more searching this weekend.
