Today's Finds from the lake

I took the excalibur out for a couple hours of hunting at the local reservoir at their tiny little beach. Got 3 quarters, 2 dimes, and a nickel for a total of $1.00 in change. I also got 3 junk rings, a pocket knife in pretty good shape, and 2 links from a junk necklace. The ring on the right is one of those curved square nail types that is just covered in crusty rock corrosion. It almost looks like it is silver underneath all of the black crud. I will try elextrolysis and see what happens.

Hopefully gold is on the horizon!

Hi bsco!

It's only a matter of time before you master this machine too,
and then you'll be cleaning up big time! GOLD!!! Best of luck out there my friend!
Love that knife!

Thanks bud! :)

I do think it will take me longer to master it though since I have so few places to go out and use it. I only have one place that I am aware of within 30min of me and it is the same place that I have gone to each time. But I'm sure there is a piece of gold out there somewhere! :)

Still nothing old? At least you are getting rings out of it! I hope your ring turns out silver!!!

Nope, nothing old. They didn't start to create this reservoir until 1954, and who knows how long it took before it was actually completed and a beach was created for public use.

still cool though, that square nail ring should be pretty neat when you clean it up :)

So you use the Excal on land as well? I had thought about getting one, but everybody says it's too heavy to use on land.

I honestly don't think it is heavy at all. But I would never want to use it on land unless I was relic hunting.... if then.

There is no visual meter so you don't really know what it is you are digging or even how deep it is. You just know that it is metal.

My explorer is all I need for land for the time being! :)
