Not bad for a lunch break Ivy, never had much luck myself at the cemetary... just your average hauntings heh ;)... nice work.

YEP,Thats a lipstick!

As for hunting Cemetery's, I DON'T hunt them. I myself think it's bad for the hobby. But that's just my opinion.

Best of luck to you this season. HH, Ringfinder

Looking very much like a Lip-stick.

Just so you all know, as stated in previous threads from this same cemetery, there are no headstones left and the whereabouts of the actual cemetery is gone.

Are you sure about the lipstick ????

OH, That is a little better. And yep it's a LIPSTICK TUBE!, Probably from the 1930's or '40's. Open it up, might be some red lipstick left in it.

Pocket Urn, can you see any letters engraved on it?

Yep .... you guys were right and ringfinder hit it right on the eh .... lip !!!!

Its red lipstick all right !!

Neat finds, the whatsit looks like a scabbard tip for a knife or dagger holster. HH, Mike

Someone was looking good at a funeral. Ah note how its so pretty and green, lipstick cases they make now would have deteorated in the blink of an eye.

Best of luck and keep the dirt flying.

Hi:

Have a question in searching a cemetery. Do you actually go into the Cemetery or just search around the perimeter?

As i mentioned earlier in the thread there is no obvious signs of cemetery still in existence, only a lone newspaper article that shows the headstone dated jan 24, 1934. i would never hunt in a place to actually still had the stones in place ...... would be some interesting finds though i am sure. i have heard that in the past people used to leave a coin by the grave site .... can you just imagine ?????

thanks for looking,

Mark (A.K.A. ivy_walls) GO CUBS !!

You aren't digging to deep are you? ;D

I will be in a few days ..... there is what looks like the remains of an outhouse possibly on back of the hill where the cemetery allegedly was located. Not sure, it is about 3' sq and brick construction. Kinda looks like a fire pit too ?? I am gonna take a shovel back there some day!!
I have had some signals on the hill that seemed to be a rather long something underground. And deeper than 8" . From what I have heard way back then they didn't necessarily get buried 6' deep either .... so you never know??

What VDI number does a casket read at? ;)

I have a plan to pay off my credit card and then I am going to buy a detector that has a VDI readout, I will tell you then what a casket equals !!
