I just started hitting dimes recently, and having ok results. Out if 9 boxes I've gotten 12 keepers, 1 being a 43 merc, which was a first for me. I decided to switch it up today and got $150 in mwr of halves, and a box of nickels, which was a solid new box so I went and switched it out at a different bank. I got one 40% half, which is also a first for me from a roll, all my other halves have came from trays, and 2 war nickels. The one was my dirtiest find yet, and I almost missed it. I ran some water and soap over it and it cleaned up some. Here are some pics.

Looks like some good results - and congrats on your first merc. So far I haven't gotten any solid new nickel boxes yet myself. I found about 8 2014's in my last nickel box but so far those are the only new 2014 coins I've found so far. But Im sure I'll be seeing more of them soon.

Thanks! Mercs are one of my favorite coins. This is only my second solid box of 2014s, my first was a cent box about a month or so ago.

Cool finds ! A dirty Merc is still a Merc...and BE CAREFUL cleaning them, just in case you have a key date. I recently dug my first Indian Head cent, in EXCELLENT shape...and got a little over-zealous in the cleaning process, and my friend Mike just about punched me in the face. Needless to say..Mike will be cleaning my valuable coins from now on..keep up the great work! and thx for sharing...ddf

It had crusty crap over the date and where the mint mark was. I just wanted to make sure it was a war nickel before it went in the jar. Thanks, I'll take a dirty merc any day : )
