Todays haul 1-15-2008

Went to the scrapyard today...just brought some junk I had around the garage..
I haven't been scrapping much this year, or last..but here's what I brought.

68# steel @$0.05/Lb
3# electric motor @$0.10/Lb
12# AL @$0.40/Lb
7# Insulated @$.50/Lb
1# Copper @$2.15/Lb

Total: $14.15 with 91lbs of metal.

Not the best trip by far, but still, not bad. I cleaned up a bit and got a few $$ for the trouble. The scrapyard is also only about 3 miles from my house, so no real loss from gas...

only .05 for steel? Its over $200 a ton in ohio right now I got .10 per pound for steel over the weekend and it went up again today

Still not bad though, it all adds up and spends the same

Yeah...its a rinky dink kind of a place...

Its the owner...and only him...he has some workers...but they don't appear to speak english..and they don't handle any money...

Its the kind of place where the owner keeps the cash he gives you in his pocket....


If I get a truck and start scraping more, I'll make the longer trip to the other yard and get more $$...
