Well today i decided to striclty hunt for gold and i found some. I set up the Ace in Custom mode to only aceppt from iron foil to Pull tabs wich by the way worked awesome. I hunted a park that i pretty much had picked clean. I started on the grass and mostly dug pull tabs and foil wich is fine because thats were gold hits alot at as well as nickels. On the grass i found a few nickels and that was it. Then I decided to hit the tot lot and was hitten foil and small buttons and small pieces of iron etc. The Ace is really a good Detector. These Ace 250s are as good as high dollar machines. I decided to search around the swings and bam hit a small gold chain with a charm of some saint. Then i continued to hunt and found a small cross that was just iron. I noticed the gold was hitten at the 5 cent mark on the Ace or the foil range or pul tab range. I tested a few gold items i had with me as well. These Ace 250 find small gold chains that pretty impressive for a 200 dollar machine. Ive found more jewlry with this Ace 250 than My Minelabs and others. Not to say Minelab and others arent good its just this machine is simple an d efective. From now on ill youse this custom mode for gold works really well

Gold is always NICE!!!

Cool finds! Interesting idea using the ACE 250 for just a specific type of hunting. Goin' for the gold today.

Was there a difference in tone between the gold when it hit in the foil range than when it was just foil?

Nice finds, some brands & models are just hot on jewelry. Looks like you picked a good 'tector.

Thanks Yes the Ace kinda hits with a mid tone belltone sound when hitting on gold in the Nickel to pull tab area. These fricken machines are great. Ill probably use my Ace from now on for jewlry and gold because of its simplicity and ease of identifying gold and its a great coin machine too!

Cool. Thanks for the info.

I'm still tryin' to figure mine out.

WTG Nice finds. I love my Ace 250 also. It really is easy to operate, and is a excellent coin hunter :icon_thumright:

Just can't beat that gold.

I like my 250 gonna take it to NOLA tomorrow and hunt in the park. Last time hunted at Loyola university in front of the sign found some coins cleaned it up no junk there now. We will go to the zoo aquirium take a trolley ride downtown since parking is a pill in that area.

Nice finds

The 250 is a great little unit. I wouldn't go that far though. My dfx out performs it in everyway. Except while hunting around powerlines the ace wins that battle. I have both units and there is no comparison. The ace is a great bang for the buck though. It will find old coins and get nice depth.
