Today's nickel box

Hello all,

Just finished up my fourth box of nickels. It wasn't the best of boxes, but it had a nice variety of coins. For starters I found my first proof, a 1988. I also came across two 1938 (no mintmark), a 1942 D, and a couple of foreign coins. Finally, I was able to add a few 2009s, four in total (3 D, 1 P). Still no war nickels, oddly. I figured I would have found at least one by now. With that said, it was a fun box overall. :)

I also found a 2005-D nickel with an oddity. The buffalo is missing a fair amount of hair. Is it simply PMD?

Figured as much. Thanks for the info! Either way, I'm fairly satisfied with the proof. 8)

I'm thinking struck through grease on the buff.

I'm not sure why unless it's just cool. It's a damaged proof and only worth a nickel.

Damaged or not, it's still my first proof found in the wild. It's still a very sharp coin.
