Today was not as great a hunt as yesterdays but I got out and hunted at least. Best coin was 1898 Indian followed by a crusty wheatie. This was a old site. The huge wad of lead looks like it has a marking of some kind on it. Maybe it was going to be made into bullets later if not lost? And got a mystery slug of some sort, its nonferrous magnet fails to stick, maybe it is aluminum. But what it was doing there who knows? It was crusty enough to have been down in ground a long time. After getting some crust off there was no engraving or text. So its a mystery item to me. And also found the 3 copper items that appear to have had a metal reed on them in the past nearby. Have found similar items before in the past, they seem to be like a one note harmonica? Might have had wood parts that decayed while in the soil. But their purpose is unknown to me.
