I and my wife (she agreed to accompany me!!!) searched a local church's base ball field/soccer complex this morning. Of course the Providence of breakfast might have had something to do with my company. <grin> After Driving through McD's we cruised over to the church compound. Yes.. "Compound".. or I guess you could call it a "Campus". This is a REALLY big Church! How big? Well let's just say they run a shuttle bus to the parking lots on Sundays before and after services. This place is BIG!
Anyway, I digress, back to the story. It started off not far from the gate. The service gate that leads up to the concession building. I found penny and not two steps later I got a big hit, looked like a quarter on my detector's screen. Alas, it was just a token. A neat token, sure, but just a token. Iron Mike Batting Machine.. no cash value. <shrug>
It was pretty slow after that, a penny here and a penny there, till I got around to the bleachers for the soccer field. I started finding dimes and quarters, pull tabs of course, and a bit of copper pipe, and some more pennies. Not a bad little haul for about an hour's search.
One bathroom emergency later... and after lunch. (had to go find a restroom.. the church was locked up and the concession stand/restrooms were too, and my wife HAD TO GO!!) Anyway, found a bathroom and it was almost lunch time anyway so we had lunch. After lunch we returned to the "Complex" and checked out the volley ball courts. There were three courts in one group.. complete with judges' tower chairs.. I should have gotten pictures of them as well.. <shrug> Oh well. Didn't find much of anything there, one penny and one nickle. And that was that. I had to retire the detector for the day as I had a bunch of errands to run. *sigh*
Here's a pic of today's finds. Hey.. it all adds up in the end, a little here, a little there.. <grin> before long you're off to vacation again! <BIG SMILE>
Get out there and hunt people... the weather is soon going to be cold and frosty if not wet. Have fun!
...hmmm.. perhaps I should rephrase that.. "Get out there and HUNT, people... " Yeah.. that doesn't sound like I'm promoting big game hunting on human beings <laughing>
