I'm hoping to find a resource providing information on the various mints that have produced tokens of different types over the years. I'm trying to research the mintage on a specific token I picked up but there's no mint marks on it. Is there a site or resource that covers this topic? I'm glad to simply ask the question of specialists here but I prefer to do my own research when and where possible.
Any leads? Thanx!

Here’s an interesting tid bit. In the 1800s, one of the Philadelphia mint directors had a deal with a token maker. He let the token maker use the US mint coin die lathe to produce dies for his tokens. I’m sure he got some under the table money for that. When a new mint director was named, the practice was halted.

Token mints? ?? I sure hope they taste better than those urinals mints or condumints

Ah, yes, token mints. They're a poor man's version of gelt, cheaply made, not really worth anything and the candy is chalky, vaguely minty and very like Pepto bismol
