Hello Forum,

When I found this token I thought it was a silver dollar. My heart sank when I saw that it is a modern Disney token. I cleaned it up, and the tarnish came off like it is silver. Could any token experts confirm if this is in fact silver? Thanks for looking!

Drop it on a table along with a clad quarter, the pre-1965 90% silver quarters have a distinct sound. Hard to explain the sound and a token indeed if different metal could sound different, but silver is VERY distinct if you have an pre 65' coins (not pennies or nickels though) laying around to compare to.

Sounds like silver! This could be $18.50 in silver. I was hoping to find a data sheet that describes the composition.

Cool find, but I can't see a Disney token being silver?

That’s why I need a token expert. Frozen came out in 2013 I think. It would have been approximately $10.00 back then. The tarnish comes off on a paper towel like silver. I really don’t know for sure. I hope I can get a positive ID. Thanks!

Thanks Red-Coat. I saw that, but I didn’t see the metal listed.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Interesting find though

Let it gooo, Let it gooooo........ Congrats!!

Oh, I’ve let it go. It’s not the money, I just like to know. That’s what makes this hobby fun. One thing I’ve noticed though is that there is a real archive of data on tokens dating back to the 1800’s but for some reason some modern tokens aren’t easily identified.
