Back up to 90 degrees yesterday and I just didn't have the gumption
to go shadow hopping. So, instead, I did something that was much, much,
easier??? ;)

I went for a "wade" in a nearby stream. It's a local meeting spot for swimming throughout
the summer, but, very shallow and clear! Still, it was a nice cool wander with nobody but
me and nature. One of the most pleasant 3 hours I've spent hunting in a long time!

I knew the potential was low but there was enough to keep me wandering. Just wanted
to report on a pleasant day/memory in this hobby.

I found 10 pull tabs, a bottle cap and one shotgun shell. :)

Anyone needing a pic, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. ;)

Thanks for peeking and stay cool!

Sounds like a relaxing time. Sometimes we can get to wrapped trying to find the "good stuff", sweating our butts off, getting bit up by bugs, we can forget about how relaxing this hobby can actually be if allow it to be.

Congrats on your cooool relaxing hunt!

We also had a 90 degree day, so what to do? Pretty much same as you but with a 5yr old.

Found a beer can, piece of old telephone reciever, 20ga shell remnant....and a handfull of fossils, agates, and possible stone artifacts.

I also found that when a 5yr old is tired and done, it seems I am done too...no matter what we're finding! :laughing9:

Welcome to the water,,

Well.......welcome back to the water, anyway. :) I first dipped a detector coil around 1970. ;)

But, yeah......it was a very nice outing!

I've never done the water thing yet but I'm going to fix that problem soon. Any time spent out side and not at work is a good day.

Were the pull tabs the old round ones or newer ones? They are light and don't sink as fast as coins. Strange you couldn't find a keeper. Good luck out there. I promise, I haven't cleaned up your stream

LOL. Naw, nobody had much to do with cleaning up this stream. It literally is a little more than a trout stream with a fair current. Mostly rocks. At times this place virtually has flood waters pour through. But, during the quiet times, many like to gather here. It's also very old so potential is there. Just not likely. It's probably more suited to panning. It's ok though, I got what I went for. ;)
Thanks!

pics or it didn't happen :tongue3:

Awesome hunt if it did

Sounds like you had a great few hours, back to nature. The local beach at the state park does not yield much either. Sometimes a nice dip is better than sweating on land.

Can't think of a better way to spend a hot day!

My proof has never been nor will it ever be contingent on whether or not I post a pic.

If it didn't happen, judging by the finds, just as well. If you need a pic of a pull tab or a shotgun shell. Try google, you'll probably find an exact match.

And, yeah....it was.......AWESOME! LOL
Thanks!

I guess I'll have to Dig in my Garbage can :tongue3:

Or go out hunting next cooldown

Way to go Whadi. Whatever it takes to stay cool and still enjoy the hobby.

A relaxing walk in the water on a hot day, awesome!
Thats adding to longevity!

....i hope you took Blingie & Fishy with you. They spend far too much time inside with their treasures.

I can't view pics here now. But i do have sharp recollection of what a pull tab looks like....having dug a few....ok, more than a few.

Soon TNet will just be a point of light on my phone screen...but i will still be here...somewhere. :D
